木かげ石けんは、天然材料を使い、コールドプロセスという手法で作った石けんです。しっかりと洗い上げるのに、肌はしっとり。森林の力で、洗うだけで肌に潤いを与えます。この石けんは、顔や身体にはもちろん、髪にもお使いいただけます。

The cokage soap is made from natural ingredients using a cold process. It leaves your skin thoroughly cleansed yet moist at the same time.
The power of the forest will moisturize your skin by cleansing alone. The soap can be used for your face, body and hair.

石けんに刻んだ3本と4本の線の意味。

Odaiプロダクトを作っている私たちは、そもそも「杣人（そまびと）」と呼ばれる木こり等の山専門の仕事をしています。時代が変わるにつれ、ニーズが変わり、私たちの仕事の内容も昔から比べると随分と変化しました。しかし、私たちの基盤は「森」であることだけは変わりません。昔から伝わる杣人が使う斧（よき）に刻まれている、忘れてはならない「大切なこと」を杣人としてこの石けんにも刻むことにしました。

線の意味 ＝ “山の神様への信仰”
・3本の線：「ミキ」＝御神酒（オミキ）、塩、米
・4本の線：「ヨキ」＝「四気（または 「四大）」四気とは、太陽・土・水・空気：木を育てる自然のこと（四大である「火・地・風・水」に常に感謝をすることを表している）

この精神のもと、木を伐採する前に榊を供え斧（ヨキ）を木にたてかけ、山の神様が与えた樹木やほかの生き物も含めた命を絶ち、私たちが使わせていただくことへの感謝と許可、作業の安全を祈ったのです。

There is a message in the number of lines engraved on each piece of soap.

Those of us creating the Odai products are “somabito,” experts in traditional mountain work such as woodcutting. Over the years, much has changed in the work we do as new needs arise with the changing times. Yet, there is one thing that will never change – the forest will always be the foundation of our work. For generations, somabito have engraved the values they hold closest to their hearts on the “yoki,” or axe. As modern-day somabito, we decided to carve the same symbols on our soap.

The meaning of the lines = our faith in the mountain god
Three lines: “Miki.” Symbol of the sacred sake offering, salt and rice.
Four lines: “Yoki.” Symbol of the Sun, Soil, Water and Air – the four natural elements that nurture the trees, and a reminder to always be grateful to the four elements of Fire, Earth, Wind and Water.

Observing these values, somabito have practiced a time-honored ritual before felling a tree. They offer a branch of the Sakaki tree and lean their axe against the tree to express their gratitude and seek permission to take the life of the tree, or of other animals, which are all gifts from the mountain god. They also pray for safety.

How to use

■使用上の注意
・肌に異常が生じていないかよく注意して使用してください。化粧品が肌に合わない時、次のような症状が現れた場合、使用を中止してください。そのまま化粧品類をご使用になりますと症状を悪化させることがありますので、皮膚科専門医等にご相談されることをお勧めします。
（1）使用中、赤味、はれ、かゆみ、刺激、色抜け（白斑等）や黒ずみ等の異常が現れた場合。
（2）使用した肌に、直射日光が当たって上記のような異常が現れた場合。
・傷やはれ物、湿疹等、異常のある部位には使わないでください。
・目に入った時は、こすらずにすぐにきれいな水またはぬるま湯で洗い流してください。
・敏感肌の方はご使用の前に腕の内側等でパッチテストをしてからご使用ください。
・天然成分を配合しているため、色、香り等に変化が生じる場合がありますが品質上問題ありません。

■保管上の注意
・高温多湿または低温、直射日光の当たる場所で保管しないでください。
・乳幼児の手の届かないところに保管してください。
・製品表面に白い粉や白い斑点が発生する場合がありますが、使用上問題ありません。気になる場合は軽く洗い流してからご使用ください。
・乾燥により形状が変化する場合があります。

■How to use the product
Cut the soap into a bar that fits in the palm of your hand.

■Precautions for using the product
- Check carefully for any skin problems while using the product. Stop using the product immediately when you experience any irritations on your skin, or the following symptoms. Continued use of cosmetic products may worsen the symptoms. We advise you to consult a dermatologist or other medical experts.
(1) When abnormalities such as reddening, swelling, itching, irritation, color loss (white spots) or dark spots appear on your skin;
(2) When the above symptoms appear after using the product and exposing the skin to sunlight.
- Do not use on any part of the body with scars, swelling, eczema or other abnormalities.
- When the product gets in your eye, do not rub, but rinse your eye with clean water or warm water.
- If you have sensitive skin, conduct a patch test before use (for example, on the inside of your arm).
- Due to the use of natural ingredients, the product may change in color and aroma, or in other ways. This does not affect product quality.

■Precautions for storing the product
- Do not store the product under high or low temperatures, high humidity, or direct sunlight.
- Keep the product away from the reach of small children.
- White powder or spots may appear on the surface of the product. This does not affect product quality.
- The product may change its shape when desiccated.
